Iram Leon: Brain Cancer Survivor

Meet Iram: An Inspiration. A Cancer Survivor. A Spartan.

Iram Leon’s life changed when he woke up in an ambulance after suffering a seizure. Diagnosed with brain cancer, he wasn’t sure how much longer he had. “Life can be unpredictable,” Iram explains. After undergoing surgery, he started feeling bad for himself. That was before he met other cancer survivors – ones who had lost limbs or had to relearn to walk. Motivated by these amazing new friends, Iram stopped feeling bad, and got back to attacking life. He even won a few road races, breaking a five minute mile for the first time since high school. And while he likes marathons, he loves Spartan Races because, like life, they can be unpredictable. Aside from the scars, he wears a shirt that sums up his attitude towards life. It pictures a runner outpacing the grim reaper above the words “Make him work for it.” That says it all.
