2016 Spartan Race World Championship returns to Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe has become a spring of Spartan champions and a nexus of competition. For this year’s World Championship, Spartan returns to the same waters that baptised men’s champion Robert Killian, of the United States and the women’s winner, the Czech Republic’s Zuzana Kocumova into the highest ranks of Spartan honor.

Despite its familiar name, Lake Tahoe will take racers through a fresh network of trails this October. With open, competitive, and elite racers representing an unprecedented number of countries from across the globe, this year’s Spartan Race World Championship will require more tenacity and lift spirits higher than ever before.

Place top 5 at any US or international Spartan Race. If top 5 finishers have already qualified, a roll down to the next applicable racer will take place.

More than $100,000 in Cash and Prizes:

Top 5 Men’s and Women’s finishers

  • 1st $15,000
  • 2nd $10,000
  • 3rd $5,000
  • 4th $4,000
